Fuzzy: The Dog Is Not a Toy
On the comics scene of late, Get Fuzzy
has made the fur fly. Now syndicated in more than 175 newspapers,
this freshly amusing strip has rapidly become the new darling among
readers who enjoy pets with an attitude. This wry cartoon features

this unlikely trio hang out together, watching TV, cooking for
friends, and attempting the occasional adventure outside. Anyone who

Deepening Our Relationships with Dogs
For anyone who has ever dreamed of being
able to really talk to their dogs -- and "hear" what they
have to say... Akin to Monty Roberts's The Man Who Listens to Horses
and going light-years beyond The Hidden Life of Dogs or any training
manual, Suzanne Clothier takes a radical new direction in
understanding our life with dogs...and our mutual love. Drawing on a
lifetime of experience with dogs, this nationally renowned dog
trainer brings us astonishing new lessons about our animals -- and
ourselves. Gently, with intelligence, humor, and unfailing patience,
Suzanne Clothier guides us to truly comprehend another creature's
mind and heart. You will discover how our dogs see the world from
their uniquely canine perspective, how we can meet their deep need
for leadership without using force or coercion, and how the
"laws" of canine culture often put our dogs at odds with
us and our very human world. |
Cold
Noses at the Pearly Gates:
A Book of HopeA beautiful and
well-written book A reader from Thousand Oaks, CA , July 1, 1999 A
wonderful, inspiring, loving book I was impressed and gratified by
this book. It shows great love and compassion for both pets and
their grieving owners. He attempts (and very well!) to show the
biblical evidence that animals, indeed go to Heaven and that we
might one day be reunited. Through examples he demonstrates
communication and interaction between man and animal, and relates of
their courage and loyalty, and intelligence. He reminds us of those
wonderful stories of the child that fell into the gorilla cage at
the zoo and the rescue of it by a mother gorilla; he also recounts
the marvelous story of when those whales were trapped under the ice
and would have suffocated were it not for so many people's efforts
to cut holes in the ice progressively in the direction that finally
got them to where they belonged; the animals seemed to know what was
expected of them and performed accordingly. He goes into what his
beliefs are regarding the Creation and the Fall that led to where
man and animal are today in a very convincing manner. He gives
excellent advice on selection of a pet as well. To sum up, he does a
beautiful job of explaining the importance of animals, our
interaction with them, and God's plan for them.

The
Cat Who Went to Paris and A Cat Abroad
Before
Peter Gethers met Norton, the publisher, screenwriter, and author
was a confirmed cat-hater. Then everything changed. Peter opened his
heart to the Scottish Fold kitten and their adventures to Paris,
Fire Island, and in the subways of Manhattan took on the color of
legend and mutual love. The Cat Who Went to Paris proves that
sometimes all it takes is paws and personality to change a
life.
Synopsis
When Peter Gethers's girlfriend surprised him with a gift of
a small, furry gray kitten, soon to be named Norton, he had no idea
that this feline would eventually tour two continents; find himself
on the "A" list of desirable celebrities who stay at the
ultra-chic Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles; be feted with a Pounce
pizza at Spago by superstar chef Wolfgang Puck; and, most
importantly, change his owner's life forever. Now to celebrate the
publication of the third Norton book, The Cat Who'll Live
Forever, all of Norton's earlier adventures are bound together
in this reissue of the bestselling books, and its continuation, A
Cat Abroad. About the Author In addition to being his cat's
Boswell, Peter Gethers is a novelist, publisher, and writer for TV
and movies.
