Mousie's
Story
Mousie’s mother decided to find a warm and dry place for her new
family and moved into a garden shed. What she didn’t consider were the
two big dogs that also lived there. The dogs got one of her kittens, but
the mother and the other two kittens were rescued
Mousie is Fiv positive and has a bad mouth disease. Depomedrol shots
have so far helped her greatly. Our experience has been tha t cats with
FeLeuk and Fiv can live a productive life for 6 to 10 years, as long they
are watched closely and treated when necessary. We don’t agree that they
should be euthanized as soon as diagnosed, as so many veterinarians( not
ours) suggest. However they have to be isolated from other healthy cats, because
both diseases are very contagious. If you do have a cat that gets
diagnosed as positive for one of these diseases, please do not let them be
around any other cat.
