Moonwatcher's Tale
The story of one great dog!

Moonwatcher
was brought to a rescue as a stray. He lived there with several
other dogs, all hoping to find a loving home.
One day a new caretaker was helping out at the rescue. The dogs had
met her but didn’t know her well yet. When she went out to feed,
one of the dogs began to circle towards her, hackles up and teeth
bared. She stopped and stood still hoping it would pass but the dog
came slowly closer. Suddenly Moonwatcher appeared in front of the
woman with his back to her, facing the other dog. This
allowed her to back into the house, while Moonwatcher herded the
other dog by bumping her out of the way with his shoulder. He never
harmed the other dog and went back about his own business as soon as
the situation was under control. A strong yet benevolent
pack-leader.

Moonwatcher was adopted and has lived with his retired owner for
over 6 years now. He is about 7 or 8 years old and has developed very bad
knees
in his hind legs. Moonwatcher's mom loves him very much but
she is on a fixed income and not able to pay for it. He needs 2 surgeries that have to be done at a
special Veterinarian hospital.
The
cost will be high with all the after care involved.
Without the operations he will be in constant pain and soon not able to
get back up. When a big dog like Moonwatcher cannot move around he
becomes prone to pneumonia , it would be his death.
Moonwatcher deserves to live and continue to be a great example of
canine loyalty.
Please find it in your heart to help Moonwatcher.
