Honey's Story

Honey was found when she had come into an entryway of a duplex to have her babies. She must have been new to this experience since she didn’t seem to know what to do. When she was found, she was in the process of eating her own babies. The people took the 2 living kittens away from her and gave her food and water. But otherwise they didn’t know a thing about cats.

By the time we were alerted to the situation it was too late for the kittens. They had not been properly kept warm.  One had already died.  We tried to help the other one but failed, it died within hours of its arrival here.

Honey however turned out to be a very friendly, still young cat. Being very pretty and affectionate, she quickly won our hearts.  We had trouble keeping her weight down once she had recovered and she was finally diagnosed with diabetes.  Even though, she was never insulin dependent she only lived 2 more years.  We had her about 5 years when she died of what we think might have been heart failure.
