We are often questioned on why we ask for adoption fees. We do
not sell animals, life is too precious to put a price on. Here
are some examples on what it costs to rescue and get an animal ready
for adoption. Below are two examples of medical care alone.
All of this cost is documented and can be cross-checked with our
veterinarian. Food, housing, heart worm medication and
the high gas cost for transporting the animals to rescue and then
home visits and delivery are additional cost. All labor
involved is labor of love and paid in purrs and tail wags.
Please help us continue, we can't do it without you.
Our current outstanding veterinarian bill is $ 2,175.00

For example: Sunny, the beautiful
yellow Labrador in the picture (left) with his sister Hanna.
When Sunny came to us he was about 5 months old. He had
Demadex mites, a slight limp and an eye infection. Over growth
of Demadex mites is usually due to genetic immune system problems
(dogs who should never be bred), most grow out of it during puppy
hood. His eye infection was due to an ingrown eye lash.
He also had to be neutered.
Another example: Tony, the red
Tabby at right, is one of many special needs cats who came to our
rescue as a young emaciated tom cat. Tony was so starved that
he suffered from jaundice. He was about 6 or 7 months old and
a very loving little boy. Even though we feed a high quality
food, he developed Urinary Tract Infection and bladder stones.
An obstructed bladder can lead to a very painful death, often within
hours of the obstruction. His was happening more and more
frequent and surgery was required.
